For travelers who don't swear by carry-ons (or whose bag gets bumped to checked luggage because someone tried to fit a mattress in the overhead bin), Delta is showing a little love with a new baggage service guarantee.

After a trial period in March 2015, Delta recently announced that if your checked bag doesn't arrive at the carousel in 20 minutes or less after any domestic flight (from the time the aircraft door opens and the bag is delivered to the baggage claim belt), you are eligible to receive 2,500 bonus miles.

To qualify, you have to be a SkyMiles member at the time of travel and must complete the Baggage Guarantee Form within three days of your flight. Flights that include multiple carriers are eligible as long as the final leg is marked and operated by Delta Air Lines or a Delta Connection carrier. Lastly, the offer is based on occurrence, not number of bags.

Why thank you, Delta!
