Tell us your travel origin story! What led you to a life in travel?

I have had quite a few careers - Aspen ski bum, tennis instructor, waitress, divorce lawyer, actor, and TV writer. And in between these jobs, a dedicated procrastinator. Which is when I noticed how much time I spent on the internet researching the coolest places to travel, the dreamiest hotels, the hottest new restaurants, and the best out of the way shopping experiences all over the world. I would travel with my family and post pics on social media of our trips and inevitably, after each one, people would ask me for my itineraries. I was thrilled! I loved sharing the information I’d procrastinated so hard for, and people were so grateful because it saved them the hours and hours of research it takes to plan an amazing trip. Then one day 5 years ago, I thought, wait a minute! This could be one of those “I get to do what I love AND get paid for it” situations that are so rare in life. And that’s how it all began….

What does being a part of Cadence mean to you?

Cadence feels like family. The whole team is incredibly supportive and encouraging, unbelievably knowledgeable, endlessly helpful, always willing to go the extra mile for you, and continuously rooting for you to succeed. I am so proud to call Cadence my home.

What was your latest travel adventure?

Tanzania and Rwanda with Singita. From safaris in Tanzania to trekking with the gorillas in Rwanda, it was truly a dream come true.

Give us one prediction about the future of travel.

I think travel, and the luxury travel market specifically, will ultimately benefit from this pandemic and the new rules that will come into play. Travelers will feel even better taken care of, they will get more attention, they will book more experiences on a private level, with less crowds, they will feel safer, and just overall, their travel experience will become more personal. And of course, booking through a travel advisor and having that level of personal attention is a post-pandemic must. Good luxury travel advisors have their finger on the pulse and are keeping up to date on a daily basis with the ever-changing entry requirements, safety requirements, CDC rules, what is and isn’t open, how best to experience a destination, etc. Plus, you always have someone watching your back, which is going to be vitally important as we navigate this new, post-pandemic travel climate.
