Welcome to the rhythm of Africa, where your travel is defined not by timed entrances and scurrying from one attraction to the next. Instead, here, the day unfolds according to nature’s playbook, and on an immense scale.
Discover Africa through a collection of expertly designed private journeys by Abercrombie & Kent, a leader in luxury safari travel for over 60 years (and recognized as Best Luxury Tour Operator in the 2025 Travel Weekly Readers' Choice Awards). Each well-paced journey includes small-group or private travel, stays in high-quality camps and lodges, internal flights between destinations, and twice-daily guided activities such as game drives, walking safaris, and boat excursions that showcase both wildlife and cultural experiences. And what’s more, every trip booked benefits the grassroots community and conservation initiatives led by the company’s nonprofit arm, A&K Philanthropy.

A&K Sanctuary Tanzania and Kenya Safari
This eight-day safari begins in Arusha, Tanzania, before moving to the little-known jewel of Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds, baobab trees, and concentrations of giraffe, zebra, and antelope. Commune with that world-famous elephant population, as well as with Taragire’s resident herd of impala. The journey continues by air to the Serengeti, where two days are dedicated to tracking big cats—lion, leopard, and cheetah—as well as large herds of wildebeest and zebra. Take in the immense scope of the African plains below you on an optional hot air balloon safari. Fly on to Kenya’s Maasai Mara, a dense wildlife region home to the Big Five, where Kichakani Camp affords a front-row seat to the annual Great Migration and the Serengeti’s year-round wildlife spectacle.
A&K Sanctuary Botswana Safari and Victoria Falls
Your Botswana and Victoria Falls journey will begin in Maun, gateway to the Okavango Delta. This, the world’s largest inland delta, is home to an estimated 8,000 species of flora and fauna. Fly by light aircraft into a remote delta camp, where activities include mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, guided walking safaris, and boat trips through narrow channels rich with birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles. Game drives in the surrounding areas offer sightings of elephants, buffalo, and predators such as lion and leopard.
This eight-day trip continues to the Moremi Game Reserve, known for higher concentrations of land-based wildlife. Focus on morning and afternoon game drives, during which you’ll often see large herds of elephant, giraffe, antelope, and frequent predator activity. The final stop is Victoria Falls, where you’ll experience the power of “The Smoke that Thunders,” and float along the Zambezi River on a sunset cruise.
A&K Sanctuary Kenya Safari
Get a taste for untamed Kenya, where A&K has its roots, on this classic East African safari that begins in Nairobi. Begin at Tambarare Camp, an A&K Sanctuary, on the rolling, rhinoceros-rich plateau of Ol Pejeta Conservancy in central Kenya. From there, take a flight to the lush grazing land of the Maasai Mara, home to herbivores and carnivores alike. Over several days, you’ll take morning and afternoon game drives across open savannah, with strong chances of seeing the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—along with giraffe, zebra, and large herds of wildebeest, depending on the season. If the mood strikes, add on a hot air balloon safari or a visit to a Maasai village.
The journey continues to Amboseli National Park, set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, game drives focus on large elephant herds, as well as lion, cheetah, and abundant birdlife in the park’s marsh areas. The final stop is Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a private reserve known for successful rhino conservation, where you’ll likely spot black and white rhino, Grevy’s zebra, and reticulated giraffe.
A&K Sanctuary Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
This five-day Uganda journey centers on Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the region’s richest, oldest, and most diverse rainforests, and where you’ll come face-to-face with mountain gorillas. Spend one or two days hiking with expert trackers through dense rainforest to locate habituated mountain gorilla families, with up to one hour spent observing them at close range. Over 500 of these magnificent creatures live here, half the world’s wild population. Your gorilla guide will lead you far into the forest for the chance to observe the gorillas from just yards away, no bars or barriers. Additional activities include birdwatching, visits to local community projects supported by A&K Philanthropy, such as the popular Bwindi Women’s Bicycle Enterprise, and meeting the Batwa people to learn the history of the forest around you.
Where You’ll Stay
Throughout each of these epic Africa journeys, you’ll stay in chic A&K Sanctuary properties, a collection of small, high-quality camps and lodges, many of them award-winning, and all designed to place you close to wildlife while maintaining consistent service and comfort standards.
Olonana Lodge
Hidden away on a secluded stretch of the Mara River, bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Olonana was Sanctuary’s first camp. Today, it offers 14 artful suites that blur the lines of indoor and outdoor space, each with a private deck overlooking the Mara River. The lodge offers visits to the A&K Philanthropy-sponsored Safe Water for Schools Initiative. It’s also the winner of Africa’s Leading Eco-Lodge at the World Travel Awards and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame for five consecutive years.
Swala Camp
Shaded by baobab trees in a secluded corner of Tarangire National Park, Swala Camp features 12 contemporary, open-plan tents that overlook the floodplains from large decks. Meals are served on the main dining deck beneath the shade of an ancient baobab tree. The stilted, thatched-roof communal areas include a bar, boma, library, boutique, and adjacent pool.
Kichakani Camp
This A&K Sanctuary alternates between two locations throughout the year to optimize game viewing. The northern location showcases an incredible view of wildebeest crossing the Mara River during the Great Migration from June to November, while the southern location enjoys a prime position for observing wildebeest calves every December to March. The mobile safari camp’s 10 guest tents feature contemporary decor, private decks, and en suite bathrooms.
Gorilla Forest Lodge
Nestled into the mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwest Uganda, Gorilla Forest Lodge affords exceptional access to some of the world’s finest gorilla trekking. The safari lodge has been beautifully and eco-consciously redesigned in harmony with its natural surroundings, with 10 standalone villas are set apart in the forest, each with a private viewing deck from which you can watch monkeys, birds and butterflies.
Tambarare Camp
Set deep in the award-winning Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Tambarare Camp is the area’s most luxurious and exclusive camp. Pitched among fever trees in the shadow of Mount Kenya, the boutique safari camp’s 10 tents feature contemporary safari-chic interiors with sun-bleached wood accents and bold pops of color, a main tent lined with comfortable sofas and chairs to encourage relaxation and reflection, and the adjoining Boma Bar for a well-earned sundowner.
Sussi & Chuma Lodge
Perhaps if more treehouses were built like the 12 at Sussi & Chuma Lodge, more of us would be living in them. Each is strategically positioned among the ebony trees lining the Zambezi riverbank and joined by wooden walkways. Outside they blend effortlessly into their leafy surroundings; under their thatched roofs, each treehouse has its own ensuite bathroom and private riverfront terrace. Upriver, awe-inspiring Victoria Falls produce a constant roar and a cloud of brilliant spray, sometimes rising to 2,000 feet or more and visible up to 30 miles away.
Chobe Chilwero Lodge
Positioned high above Botswana's Chobe River, Chobe Chilwero Lodge offers unparalleled, panoramic views across the park’s islands and floodplains, stretching as far as Namibia. Each of the luxury lodge’s 15 suites features a large deck and an ensuite complete with a shower and a large free-standing tub. Overlooking the Chobe River and floodplains, this lodge offers access to one of Botswana’s largest concentrations of elephants. The lodge is a repeated recipient of TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence and nominated for Africa’s Leading Safari Lodge at the World Travel Awards.
