The project represents the largest fleet update in the cruise line’s 153-year history, with six ships set to receive major enhancements inspired in part by the line’s Pinnacle Class experience. Holland America has announced that Oosterdam will be the first ship to debut under the Evolution program, with her refreshed experience beginning in late 2027.

Oosterdam Leads the Way
The first chapter of Holland America Evolution begins with Oosterdam, one of the line’s beloved Vista Class ships. Beginning with sailings in December 2027, guests can book voyages aboard a refreshed Oosterdam featuring new and reimagined accommodations, expanded venues, and enhancements that bring the ship closer to the Pinnacle Class experience while retaining her own distinct identity.

The Grand Dutch Café Comes to Oosterdam
Among the most anticipated additions is the arrival of the Grand Dutch Café, a guest-favorite aboard Pinnacle Class ships. At the top of the experience is the Pinnacle Suite, the most expansive suite aboard Oosterdam. With approximately 1,550 square feet of refined living space, panoramic views, a private balcony, a separate living room, a powder room, a bedroom, an ensuite bath, and a walk-in closet, it creates the feeling of a private residence at sea.
The Bridgeview Suites offer another extraordinary perspective—with just two aboard the ship, these are her most distinctive and sought-after accommodations. With approximately 900 square feet of space, panoramic windows framing stunning views, a wraparound balcony, and separate living and sleeping areas, these suites heighten the connection to the sea.
For guests seeking relaxed indoor-outdoor comfort, Vista Suites are being introduced on Oosterdam. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, teak-lined verandahs, and comfortable seating, these bright, inviting retreats encourage guests to slow down and enjoy the passing scenery.
The Evolution program also responds to one of the most meaningful shifts in travel: the rise of the solo cruiser. Oosterdam offers Solo Verandah staterooms, thoughtfully designed for guests traveling independently. Each offers approximately 200 square feet of space, a private balcony, a dedicated workspace, a glass-walled shower, and the full spectrum of Holland America amenities.
