She launched her own travel company: a career makeover story
"I fell in love with travel when I was 12 years old and spent a month on the island of Sardinia. We walked to the beach, ate freshly-baked bread daily from the local bakery, snorkeled in the Mediterranean and roasted a pig on a spit. It was a magical summer, something out of a Wes Anderson film, and I was hooked.
Fast forward to adulthood: my days were spent working in the entertainment industry in a variety of roles including publicity, production and marketing for companies like The Hollywood Reporter and 20th Century Fox. My love for travel continued to take me around the world (to 30 countries on 6 continents, to be exact), each trip igniting a spark for a travel career that I quickly smothered with my own “what-ifs.” Then I met Wendy Burk, CEO & Founder of CADENCE, and something suddenly felt right in a there's no way I can fail way.
On September 10, 2015, I officially signed my host agency contract with CADENCE. It was largely in part to ensure my future clients would have access to the best VIP perks in the world, but what happened in the next six months was life changing.
In March of this year, I was able to successfully launch my brand new travel company and reintroduce myself to the world as a bonafide travel professional. It’s still hard to believe how quickly my lifelong dream became a reality, and I owe so much of it to the personal support I received throughout my startup journey.
